1959 – 1964   :  Study and obtaining degree of “Diplom Ingenieur” (i.e. Master of Science),

 (Munich)          majoring in electronics at the Technical University of Munich.

1964 – 1966    :  Research and obtaining degree of Doctor of Electronic Engineering (i.e PhD)

 (Munich)           at the Technical University of Munich with level “Sehr gut”.

                           Postgraduate courses on Business Administration at the Technical

                           University of Munich. 
 

1966 – 1967    :  Research Assistant at the Institute for Technical Electronics of the Technical

 (Munich)           University of Munich.

ISTANBUL'A DÖNÜŞ  (Bir Eindhoven kacamagi ile)

 

1967 – 1968    :  Head of the experimental physics department of the Cekmece Nuclear

 (Istanbul)           Research Center. Research paper was published in  international research

                           journal. Member of the International Electrical & Electronic Engineers Assoc.

                           (IEEE) and the Türk Fizik Association.
 

1968 - 1970    :   Military Service as reserve lieutenant in the Turkish Naval Forces, with also

 (Istanbul)           professorships in physics and electronics in the Naval Academy and Yildiz

                           Private Technical University.

1970 – 1972    :  Project Management Trainee in the Product Division Electronic Components

 (Eindhoven)      and in the Product Division Radio Gramophone Television of Philips.

 

1972 – 1979    :  General Manager of the multi-product manufacturing operations of Philips

 (Istanbul)          Turkey. Responsible for the manufacturing operations of television, radio,

                           gramophone, shavers, light fittings & ballasts as well as all subcomponents and

                           -assemblies i.e. transformers, switches, plastic & metal parts and moulds & dies.

                           I was also given the responsibility for all government contacts in the industrial

                           field and labour relations including the collective agreement negotiations for Türk

                           Philips Sanayi A.S.

EINDHOVEN YILLARI

1979 – 1983    :  Industrial Project Manager of the Video Division of Philips Electronics

 (Eindhoven)      International. Responsible for supporting all television operations in Eastern

                           Europe, Near East and Asia as well as Central- and South America with product-

                           and manufacturing know-how. These operations were set up for supply to

                           closed” markets in countries where import of complete products were not 

                           allowedTurkey was in those days one of such countries.

 

1983 – 1986    :  Director of Philips Electronics International and General Manager of the

 (Eindhoven)      Product Group Optical Systems.

                           The overall responsibility included the creation and profitable marketing and sales

                           of consumer products based on laser optical technology i.e. Laservision players

                           the related software and CD-ROM players. Creating partnerships with software

                           companies such as Warner Brothers and Polygram as well as home computer

                           leaders Atari and Matell were some of the interesting challenges of these

                           emerging business fields.

 

1986 – 1989    :  Director of Philips Electronics International, responsible for Strategy&

 (Eindhoven)      Planning of the Product Division Consumer Electronics and member of

                           its management team. In this function I reported to the CEO of the division

-Jan Timmer, who in 1991 became the President of Philips Electronics- and

                           supported him in the definition and deployment of a medium- and long term

                           strategy. The consumer electronics division was with a world wide market share

                           of 15% and an annual turnover of 12 billion €´s leading together with Matsushita

                           and Sony Companies of Japan and the largest division of Philips.
 

VIYANA YILLARI
 

1989 – 1991    :  Director of Philips Electronics International and Member of the Board of

 (Vienna)            Philips Austria, responsible for all operations in Austria. These operations

                           consisted of 7 development centres and 9 production centres supplying world

                           markets with cathode ray tubes for televisions, video recorders and their deck

                           mechanisms, special lighting devices, audio systems, loudspeakers, capacitors

                           and last but not least health care & kitchen appliances with 8000 employees

                           and an export delivery value of 800 million €´s.

 

1991 – 1994     : Director of Philips Electronics International and Industrial Manager of the

 (Vienna)            Business Group Video Equipment. Responsible for product development

                           & production of  video recorders for supply to world markets as well as for the

                           definition of a competitive strategy for video recorder operations.

                           These operations included also all the video recorder activities of Grundig, which  

                           we integrated  during 1992/93, as well as an industrial joint  venture with the

                            JVC Company of Japan with operations out of Malaysia to supply North America,

                           6000 employees in two development- and 5 international production centres  

                           located in Western- and Eastern Europe and an annual delivery value of

                           1,5 billion €´s.

 

1994-2000     :  Managing Director of Philips Electronics International and Chief Industrial

(Vienna)            Manager of the Consumer Electronics Division. Responsible for product
                          development  & production of audio systems, television and video systems for

                         supplying

                           to world markets as well as for the definition of  the long term industrial strategy.    

                           This encompassed being responsible for 24.000 employees in six development-

                            and 18 international production centres, located in Europe, Asia, North-   

                           and South America, and an annual delivery value of  7,5 billion €´s.

 

Nihayet...Emeklilik

 

2000 - Present :  Personal activities after having reached the mandatory retirement age at Philips

 (Vienna)            Electronics.

 

  

We have a son Timur (born 1969), a daughter-in law Gabriele and their three children Vincent, Lilian and Leon;
as well as a daughter Rana (born 1975), a son in law Maziar and their son Sami
